Barbara Doyle is the Arts Center’s 2024 Artist of the Year. A longtime resident of Rushville, Barb has been a popular exhibiting artist at the Arts Center and an active member of the Penn Yan Art Guild for decades. She says: “Painting the effects of light on the landscape is one of my favorite things. I work from photos or plein air, from sky to water and everything in between. My painting beginnings were in watercolor. Pastels, then oils came next with now a reversal to watercolor.” Barb is a regular member of the exhibit “hanging crew,” and is always willing to lend her myriad skills to supporting and promoting the Arts Center.
