Come turn a photo of a pet or loved ones into something beautiful that you can hang on your wall or give as a gift. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create a simplified embroidery portrait from a favorite photograph. Instructor Olivia Fontana will walk you through each step of the process: from tracing your 5×7 photo onto wax paper, transferring your design onto fabric, and then bringing it all to life with needle and thread. You’ll learn a few basic stitches to outline your portrait, fill it in, and tips on adding finer details. All levels are welcome to join. Some sewing experience and a love of making things by hand is recommended. Suitable for ages 13+, or 10+ if they have previous experience with embroidery or sewing. All supplies are included in the cost of the class.

This Gallery is a treasure for visitors This beautiful gallery is a "must see" located in Penn Yan at the north end of Keuka Lake. Theart is of exceptional quality and the exhibitions change monthly, with a wonderful reception with the featured artists present.

Culture If you appreciate art in different mediums you will enjoy this small gallery. Local artists are on display and every year there is an opportunity for young artists, still in high school, to display their talents. Live locally? Or visiting? Look into some of the classes offered. Let you creative talents flow. Found something that really appeals to you? Ask the he curator, it just might be for sale.

Nice local art We enjoyed viewing the art created by the local artists. We spent about 10 minutes in the store. The lady behind the counter was not at all engaging though.

Sunny Point tour was exciting Our group got a chance to learn about renovations at the Arts Centre's lakefront property at Sunny Point. Artists can stay here and be inspired by the setting on beautiful Keuka Lake. Can't wait to come back this summer!

This gallery is a hidden gem When visiting the Finger Lakes, don't miss this gallery. It is conveniently located in the small village Penn Yan, NY and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a wonderful display of art from the local community and apparently, it changes every 4-8 weeks. Also, there is an old bank vault and door that is quite unique. The door itself is a work of art. Worth a stop.

What a jewel of a place When someone has the insight to "jump in the deep end of the pool" with as much conviction and thought as those that formed this Art Center the result has to be success, roaring success. While much of Penn Yan has remained a quaint small town the Art Center has shown that elegance, class and polish are well received too. There are New York City galleries that could learn from Penn Yan. The level of art exhibited is varied, but always interesting. Every media is included - from photography to jewelry making, painting to woodworking. But perhaps the hidden treasure is the upstairs education center. The list of classes seem endless. If you venture to Penn Yan and miss the Art Center - you really have MISSED IT! Make sure you go for one of the openings - great wine, great art, great people.
