Tuesdays, September 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30

These 5 classes will explore various art mediums, including drawing, painting and pastels, to give students a chance to get a feel for different tools and see what they may gravitate towards. These classes are designed to be easy, fun and suitable for all levels of experience.

What’s new at the Arts Center? We are excited to announce that we are starting the Homeschool Art Program on Tuesday, September 2nd! With a generous grant from the Lisk Morris Foundation, we are able to provide weekly art classes to our local homeschool students ages 10-17 for the 2025/2026 school year.

We are lucky to have two phenomenal art teachers who will be joining us in making HAP a success. Diane Stratton-Smith is an Art Therapy professor at Nazareth College, and has taught several art classes here at ACYC. Gracy Getz is a local artist with a strong background in the Arts, and taught for 3 years at Emmanuel Baptist Academy in Penn Yan on a volunteer basis.

Classes will be taught in 5-week sessions, with 7 sessions in total. Cute free attraction Very cute art gallery. The exhibits change every six or so weeks. It is free to enter and look around. The ambiance was very nice with music playing in the background. I especially liked the old, gigantic vault used when it was a bank that has been refurbished into a little jewelry sales area.

Original Art Abounds The Art Center of Yates County offers sculpture, jewelry, paintings, pottery, note cards, pens, and many other HAND MADE works of art. The staff are helpful and friendly, the space is a wonderful converted bank building (you can go inside the vault to view some fine hand made jewelry) which offers plenty of wall space and nice lighting. If you are visiting the area, you must stop in to take home something locally made!

Vibrant, interesting, welcoming We had some time to spend at this lovely arts centre, which had beautiful art featured from local artists. I want to come back to try one of their classes on their Keuka Lake property.

The instructor was knowledgeable, organized and clear. She was warm and approachable. I was a bit intimidated by the idea of creating an abstract painting on a large, for me, area. She helped me get started and to make use of color theory and composition. I was “in the zone “ in no time. The space was comfortable, well lit and had tons of supplies.i will be back !

Local Art Scene Stop by if you get the chance and check out the local art scene. The art is varied and eclectic and the staff friendly and helpful.

This gallery is a hidden gem When visiting the Finger Lakes, don't miss this gallery. It is conveniently located in the small village Penn Yan, NY and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a wonderful display of art from the local community and apparently, it changes every 4-8 weeks. Also, there is an old bank vault and door that is quite unique. The door itself is a work of art. Worth a stop.

Nice local art We enjoyed viewing the art created by the local artists. We spent about 10 minutes in the store. The lady behind the counter was not at all engaging though.
