Japanese Shasei & Charcoal Still Life with Regina Doi

A brief history of Japanese Shasei 写生, which translates to “copying life” or “poem sketch,” complements this charcoal seeing and drawing course where students will create, respond and connect with still life objects in drawing compositions. Concepts of highlight, shade, shadow, reflected light, and cast shadow will be introduced.
