Zen of Seeing with Tim Williams

Explore art as a form of meditation in this insightful and inspiring class. Developed from Frederick Franck’s work, the Zen of Seeing encourages the artist to use thoughtful observation of their subject to achieve a meditative state. Located at our beautiful Sunny Point lakeside studio, participants will learn how to really see and observe what they are drawing, with nature as the subject. They will then work with a sketchpad, pen, ink and/or watercolor to capture their subject in the unique way they perceive it. The goal is not so much to create a precise image, but to explore the nuances of the natural subject; to allow time to truly observe and draw what you see, without apprehension or fear of judgement. Participants can bring their own supplies, or purchase supplies from the instructor for approx. $15. Participants should also bring a blanket, towel, or cushion to sit on, as it is likely you will be sitting on the ground.
