Nancy Lane has been involved in the arts all her life. She spent 30 years as an illustrator of award-winning picture books that celebrate the human-animal bond. Several years ago she returned to oil painting and began painting outdoors. Whether in the field or in the studio, the subjects she chooses to paint are about empathy for nature and animals. The picture book “A Warbler’s Journey” by acclaimed author Scott Weidensaul was released May 14, 2022. To accompany his story about a tiny warbler migrating across the northern hemisphere, Nancy Lane created 17 large oil paintings featuring the changing landscapes and helpful people she encounters on her journey north. The exhibit will feature the images she has created for the book.
Inspiration for Bill’s work comes from many places, including where he lives, works, and plays. Living in the Finger Lakes region allows him to view unique landscapes, architecture, and technologies. His summers feature respite in Northwestern Montana, where plenty of wildlife and spectacular landscapes influence his paintings and drawings.
