Sunny Point Classes

During summer months, students of all ages are welcome to participate in a variety of classes and workshops held at Sunny Point, our seasonal lakeside facility. Whether enjoying a pottery class in Annie’s Boathouse Pottery Studio, or painting the scenic views from the enclosed porch of the “Art Barn”, students are sure to appreciate the serenity that Sunny Point has to offer. 

Youth classes and programs are often offered at a reduced price, thanks to grant support from generous organizations, such as The Tripp Foundation. The Arts Center offers new classes regularly, so be sure to check back often to see what’s happening!

In addition to our local instructors, the Arts Center also hosts a “National/International Artist” each summer to teach specialized workshops. This summer, we welcome Keiko Tanabe from San Diego, CA to teach a 3-day workshop in watercolor plein air painting! Born in Kyoto, Japan, Keiko had a fondness for creating art from a young age. While not the focus of her formal education, Keiko always knew that her heart would lead her back to creating artwork. Mostly self-taught, Keiko intensely studied watercolor and now teaches classes all over the world! To learn more about Keiko, you can visit her website at https://www.ktanabefineart.com/.

We offer several pottery and clay workshops at our Sunny Point location during the summer months. Our studio manager, Linda LaRock, instructs each workshop. Potters of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join. In addition to the workshops, open studio times and private sessions are also available, but only with pre-registration.
